Our Story

Welcome to Home Farm at the beautiful Beningbrough Hall estate, on the banks of the River Ouse, near York. It’s home to our pure-bred herd, our award-winning café & farm shop and for the last sixty years, our family.

We are Alistair and Lucy Jackson and we pride ourselves on the quality of our free-range Aberdeen Angus beef, reared here to the highest standards of welfare on riverside pastures. This mineral-rich grazing is just one of the reasons our beef is multi-award-winning and tastes so unbelievably delicious.

We recently began our journey to achieve organic status here at the farm. It’s a journey that will take a couple of years but one which we know will be more than worth it. It’s a chain of goodness that starts with healthy soil – no pesticides or fertilisers – and ends with healthy animals and people.

We believe in ethical and sustainable farming. We believe in honest and delicious food. We want you to know what you’re eating, where it came from and who produced it.
